The development prospects of the technology for refining diesel from waste plastic are generally promising, and it boasts a unique and advantageous resource endowment that lays a solid foundation for the industrialization and large-scale development of this technology, while also enabling the dual manifestation of its commercial and environmental value. Currently, the global output of waste plastic is on a steady upward trend, exceeding 400 million tons annually. Among this, chlorine-free waste plastics suitable for pyrolysis to produce oil, such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS), account for more than 60%. Derived extensively from daily packaging, industrial leftover materials, agricultural plastic films and other sources, these waste plastics feature a huge stock, decentralized distribution and easy collection, thus providing an abundant and sustainable raw material supply for the waste plastic-to-oil technology.

In the domestic market, with the acceleration of industrialization and the upgrading of residents' consumption, the annual output of waste plastic has neared 100 million tons, among which the stock of low-value waste plastic reaches approximately 60 million tons each year. Due to their low recycling value and high difficulty in manual sorting, such low-value waste plastics have long been mainly disposed of through landfilling and crude incineration. This not only results in severe resource waste, but also easily causes secondary pollution to soil, atmosphere and water bodies, becoming a major pain point in ecological and environmental governance. It also makes the efficient resource utilization of such low-value waste plastic an urgent industrial demand. Fortunately, the technology for refining diesel from waste plastic accurately meets this demand: it can convert low-value waste plastic, which was originally difficult to recycle, into high-value-added diesel fuel. While digesting the huge stock of waste plastic, it completely eliminates the drawbacks of traditional disposal methods and realizes a resource cycle of "turning waste into wealth".
