Industry Standards for Oil Yield of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Equipment
Industry Standards for Oil Yield of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Equipment
At present, there are no mandatory national standards for oil yield in China, but there are clear reference requirements in industry specifications, group standards, and technical documents, along with internationally recognized practical ranges:
1. Relevant Domestic Standards and Policy Requirements
Equipment Technical Standards: According to GB/T 32662-2016 Complete Production Equipment for Pyrolysis and Oilification of Waste Rubber and Plastics, the oil yield from waste rubber pyrolysis is required to be ≥45%.
Industry Policy Guidelines: The 2024 policy from the National Development and Reform Commission states that the industry’s average oil yield must reach 40% by 2025, and projects failing to meet this standard will face restricted approval.
Group Standards: The Technical Standard for Green High-Value Recycling of Waste Tires (draft for comments) does not mandate oil yield, but imposes requirements on pyrolysis efficiency and environmental emissions, indirectly driving improvements in oil yield.
2. Typical Oil Yield Ranges in Actual Production
Oil yield is highly dependent on tire type and equipment technology, with common industry practice data as follows:
Large steel wire tires/engineering tires: High rubber content, oil yield can reach 40%–45%, and even exceed 50% with high-quality equipment.
Small car/motorcycle tires: Oil yield is approximately 35%–40%.
Other rubber products: Such as rubber cable sheaths and shoe soles, oil yield is around 30%–35%.
3. International Industry References
In mainstream international processes, the oil yield from waste tire pyrolysis typically ranges from 35%–45%; with catalytic pyrolysis technology, it can be increased to 60%–65%.
Regions like the EU prioritize environmental protection and energy recycling efficiency, so oil yield requirements are often tied to carbon emissions and energy self-sufficiency indicators.
