What Products Can Be Obtained from Pyrolysis of Waste Tires Besides Tire Oil?

In addition to tire oil, waste tire pyrolysis yields several high-value products:

1. Carbon Black (Crude/Refined)

It is the main solid product, accounting for 30%–35% of the tire’s weight.

After refining processes such as grinding and activation, it can be used as a filler in rubber products, for pigment paste production, or to make activated carbon.

When used directly as fuel, its calorific value is close to that of coal, making it a viable replacement for some industrial fuels.

2. Steel Wire (Scrap Steel)

This metal wire is separated from the tire’s framework, making up 10%–15% of the tire’s weight.

It can be directly recycled for steelmaking or processed into industrial consumables like steel wire shot.

3. Pyrolysis Combustible Gas

Primarily composed of methane, ethane, and hydrogen, it accounts for 10%–15% of the tire’s weight.

It can be used as fuel for the pyrolysis furnace’s heating system, achieving energy self-sufficiency.

After purification, it can also be used as industrial fuel gas or for power generation.
