Selection of Plate-Structured Condensation Water Tanks
Selection of Plate-Structured Condensation Water Tanks
I. Calculate Core Parameters First
Heat load: Calculated based on medium flow rate, temperature and latent heat; reserve a 10–20% margin for heat exchange area.
Temperature/Pressure: Confirm the temperature, pressure and allowable pressure drop (≤50–100 kPa) of condensation medium and cooling medium.
Medium characteristics: Check if the medium is corrosive, contains particles or is prone to scaling.
II. Select Plate and Structure Type
Corrugation: Herringbone (high heat exchange efficiency, first choice for pyrolysis furnaces); wide-channel (anti-clogging, for particle-containing medium).
Flow channel: Narrow channel (high efficiency); wide channel (anti-clogging).
Structure: Removable type (easy to clean); fully welded type (zero leakage, high pressure resistance).
III. Select Materials (By Working Condition)
Conventional oil gas/steam: 304/316 stainless steel
Strong corrosion: Titanium, Hastelloy
Low temperature/cleanliness: 316L, pure copper
IV. Match Working Conditions and Economy
Pyrolysis/refining: Herringbone corrugation, 316 stainless steel, removable/fully welded type
Particle-containing/scaling-prone medium: Wide flow channel, large spacing
High pressure/high temperature: Fully welded type, high-temperature alloy
Priority principle: Heat exchange efficiency > Anti-clogging > Cost
