Treatment Methods for Oil-Containing Wastewater from Waste Tire Pyrolysis
Treatment Methods for Oil-Containing Wastewater from Waste Tire Pyrolysis
The treatment is divided into pre-treatment and advanced treatment, with effluent required to meet discharge standards or be recycled:
1. Pre-treatment (Oil removal & demulsification)
Gravity separation: Removes 60%-80% free oil via oil separator by density difference; basic and low-cost.
Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF): Microbubbles adsorb fine oil droplets for separation; effective for emulsified/dispersed oil.
Demulsification: Breaks emulsification with demulsifiers, ultrasound or electrolysis; improves subsequent oil removal efficiency.
2. Advanced treatment (Pollutant degradation & water purification)
Biological treatment: Mainstream process; degrades organics (COD/BOD) via anaerobic-aerobic reactions; stable and low-cost.
Membrane separation: Removes oil and organics with UF/NF membranes; high-quality effluent for direct reuse, but high membrane cost.
Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP): Decomposes refractory organics with ozone/Fenton reagent; suitable for high-concentration wastewater.
3. Terminal disposal
Treated wastewater must meet Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB 8978-1996) or stricter local standards, and can be recycled for cooling/equipment cleaning.
