Core Supports for the Technology of Converting Waste Plastics into Diesel Oil

Raw material support: The global annual output of waste plastics exceeds 400 million tons, and there are about 60 million tons of low-value waste plastics (hard to be physically recycled) in China. The sufficient and stable raw material supply lays a foundation for large-scale production.

Policy support: Many countries have listed plastic chemical recycling as a strategic priority. China provides equipment subsidies and preferential electricity prices; the EU implements the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and mandatory recycled plastic content requirements; more than 50 countries offer subsidies for plastic-to-oil products. Policies for low-carbon transition continue to bring favorable conditions.

Technological support: Catalytic pyrolysis has become the mainstream process with a liquid yield of over 85%. Technologies such as supercritical fluid and microwave intensification reduce costs and improve efficiency. AI sorting and continuous production units (stably operating for 8,000 hours) enhance production efficiency and stability.

Market support: The products can replace gasoline, diesel and naphtha, and are suitable for multiple scenarios such as refining and chemical engineering, shipping and industrial boilers. Their carbon emission reduction attribute highlights competitiveness against the backdrop of carbon tariffs and can bring additional carbon benefits, resulting in diverse and growing market demand.

Economic support: Process iteration has shortened the investment payback period to 3.2 years. Medium and large-scale projects have clear profitability (e.g., an annual net profit of about 98 million yuan for a 100,000-ton/year project). Favorable economic benefits attract industrial capital layout.
