Environmental Impacts of Industry Standards for Oil Yield of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Equipment
Industry standards for oil yield are not a single efficiency index; their implementation is deeply linked to resource utilization efficiency, pollutant discharge and solid waste disposal, exerting dual effects of positive restriction and emission reduction guidance on the environment. The core impacts are reflected in three aspects:
Improve resource utilization and reduce solid waste stock
The standards force enterprises to increase oil yield, enabling full pyrolysis and utilization of recoverable rubber resources in waste tires. The same amount of waste tires can produce more fuel oil, reducing the output of solid waste (excluding carbon black and steel wire) after pyrolysis, lowering the risk of soil and groundwater pollution caused by waste tire stockpiling and landfilling, and improving the resource utilization level of waste rubber.
Reduce energy consumption and pollutant discharge per unit product
Low oil yield is essentially due to insufficient raw material pyrolysis, which leads to waste of heat in the furnace, a sharp increase in energy consumption for producing unit oil products, and an easy rise in the content of pollutants such as VOCs and carbon monoxide in tail gas caused by non-standard oil and gas from insufficient pyrolysis. Oil yield standards drive enterprises to optimize processes and improve equipment efficiency, achieving lower energy consumption and reduced pollutant discharge per unit oil product, and reducing air pollution from the production side.
Regulate industrial production and eliminate backward high-pollution capacity
Meeting oil yield standards relies on standardized pyrolysis equipment, closed processes and efficient condensation/tail gas treatment systems, while small workshop-style equipment with high pollution generally has extremely low oil yield and no environmental protection supporting facilities. Through market access and regulatory law enforcement, industry standards gradually eliminate backward production capacity with low oil yield, fundamentally reducing environmental violations such as unorganized discharge, random waste residue stacking and direct wastewater discharge, and promoting the upgrading of the industry towards green and standardized development.
